At Saint Andrew’s, our commitment to mission has always been at the heart of our church life.
As a church community, we embrace opportunities to serve others, respond to needs, and support partners who work tirelessly to bring hope and transformation around the world.
Our Mission Team continually brings thoughtful ideas and adapts to the changing needs of mission work. Together with the support of our congregation, our mission partners have created a meaningful impact for many years. We have also responded promptly and faithfully to urgent situations requiring immediate care and assistance.
Below is an overview of the missions we support today, as well as those that have grown or completed their season with us.
Current Mission Partnerships
Local Women’s Shelter
Partner since 2005
This home provides a secure and supportive environment for women and children escaping abuse, offering temporary housing, emotional support, and pathways toward safety, stability, and independence. The congregation brings in weekly items of tins and packets of food, toiletries and cleaning materials as well as seasonal items. Occasionally it brings in specific items needed, such as nappies. It uses donated funds for specific larger items such as the furnishing of a rooftop meeting area, or a large appliance. The concern is for the residents to feel that they are thought of.
La Maison d’Arnaud (The Arnaud Guesry Foundation), Madagascar
Partner since 2023
This foundation operates a residential centre for abandoned, orphaned and abused
children. Funds were raised to pay for professionals caring for the children. Some children requiring surgery also benefitted from funds raised. Recently, families from the community have fostered the children under close monitoring of staff. They are given important financial support to help with
education (which is not free) and all other needs.

Annual partnership with the Church of Scotland
Each year, we support mission projects selected by the International Presbytery Mission
Committee.
Past Missions with Lasting Impact
Tugwashanje Community, Zambia 2005–2023
“Out of Africa… Into Malta” 2011–2023
Malta Microfinance 2013–2023
These missions have completed their season with Saint Andrew’s but continue to reflect our longstanding commitment to serving communities with compassion, dignity, and Christian love.
Missions That Became Independent Organisations
We are deeply grateful for the dedication of all volunteers who helped two Saint Andrew’s initiatives grow into fully independent foundations. Their success stands as a testament to what faithful service and community support can accomplish.
Blue Door Education (BDE)
Established in 2013, Blue Door English became a registered Voluntary Organization in 2021. It continues to support and empower individuals through English language education.
